Cadet Delanshe Edwards from 155 (Maidenhead ) Sqn was the 5000th cadet to take to the skies from RAF Benson in a Grob Tutor, piloted by Flt Lt Alan Page.
On landing cadet Edwards who only joined the ATC the previous September was congratulated by Air Vice-Marshal Andy Turner who commands No. 22 (Training) Group RAF of which 6 AEF is a part. AVM Andy Turner who himself as an experienced RAF pilot regularly donates his spare time to offer air experience flights to cadets, said: “It is fabulous to see 6 AEF flying the 5000th cadet this year and introducing so many great young people to aviation technology and engineering in this way and to see the RAF contributing so much to the local community, whose support we greatly appreciate.”
At the conclusion of the morning’s flying a group photograph was taken of all the cadets and pilots present that morning including Flt Lt Darren Legg the current Officer Commanding 6 AEF .
