RAF Benson Station Commander’s Visit

RAF Benson station commander, Group Captain Hamish Cormack, visited the squadron on the evening of 28 February. He gave the cadets an interesting presentation on the work of RAF Benson both at home and overseas including survival training for arctic environments, this was followed by a variety of questions. Following a tour of the sqn, the Gp Capt was shown the various projects on which the cadets are currently involved.

At the invitation of the sqn Commanding Officer the Gp Capt presented a number of awards to the cadets on final parade; these included First Class and radio communications certificates/badges.

In addition, Cpl Samuel Baker was awarded his yellow lanyard to become the sqn’s latest Instructor Cadet.

Finally, Gp Capt Cormack announced that Cpl Charis Sung had been selected from a list of sector nominees to be one of the two RAF Benson station commander’s cadets for this year.
