Visit to RAF Benson

On 30 May 2017 a number of cadets were invited to spend the day at RAF Benson. They were shown and joined in a number of activities which take place on the base. During the morning the majority learned the various techniques and the equipment used to sling heavy loads beneath helicopters and for a few lucky ones there was a trip to the helicopter flight simulators building where they were able to ‘fly’ a Merlin helicopter under various simulated scenarios.

After lunch in the Junior Ranks all cadets assembled at 28 squadron where a flight in a Chinook had been arranged.
